Turning Your Data into Ammunition!: Beginning Session
April 12, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Are you facing writing an annual report? Have you just finished one and wished you had more concrete numbers to back up your story? Do you know what your library is worth? Can you demonstrate to your administrators that your operation is fiscally responsible?
We can help. The NN/LM MCR is offering two one hour classes – Beginning on April 12 and Advanced on April 19 – for you to learn and share how to gather your data, turn it into ammunition and aim at the fiscal accountability target. Turn shelving statistics into value statements, turn teaching opportunities into money savings, turn information into a valued commodity.
Barb Jones and Betsy Kelly will lead you through thinking about what you know about yourself, your library and your services and help you articulate how those attributes are a value proposition for your organization.
By the end of the series you will be able to show your administrators (bosses, department heads, whomever) that the library is a strong contributor to the financial well-being of the institution; the money provides a return to the institution through the value of your skills, your services and the time saved and information used by your library users.
The classes will be held in https://webmeeting.nih.gov/mcr2 at 11CT, 10 MT on April 12 and April 19. For the second class you will need to bring your library’s statistics, and be prepared to work on promotional materials.
