A powerful story about a child discovering a love of reading and lifelong learning will likely endear many people in your community to the library. However, it may leave those who are more concerned with tax dollars and the financial bottom line unmoved.

One of the keys to successful marketing is learning to speak the language of certain groups and creating a targeted marketing plan based on what those groups need from the library. Join us as we practice “speaking finance” in order to market libraries from a financial standpoint, argue for the economic benefit of public libraries, and demonstrate the investment opportunity that exists within our libraries.

We will share tools and marketing strategies designed to help even the most financially illiterate among us make a persuasive case for the continued funding of public libraries using hard, tangible numbers.
