Healthy Snacks, Healthy Kids at Your Library through CACFP
January 31 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
What if there were a way you could provide healthy meals and/or snacks to kids in your library during out-of-school-times, and receive full reimbursement for them? There IS!! Join us for a free webinar: “Healthy Snacks, Healthy Kids at Your Library through CACFP,” brought to you by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and Hunger Free Colorado.
Providing healthy snacks after school, on the weekends, and during non-school days during the school year at your library is an excellent way to support kids’ health and learning, especially for those that may not have access to healthy food outside of school. And your library can be fully reimbursed for this food!
Please join Meghan George-Nichols, Nutrition Consultant at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, and Taylor Washington, Community Engagement Manager at Hunger Free Colorado, for a webinar introducing CACFP—the Child and Adult Care Food Program. Join us to learn about this USDA-funded program that can allow your library to be reimbursed for purchasing and serving healthy meals and/or snacks to kids in your community. And learn about the libraries in Colorado that already use the program successfully!
The webinar is free; go to https://enetlearning.adobeconnect.com/librarydevelopment at 12:30 on January 31 to participate. Click Enter as a Guest and then type your name in the box, and click Enter Room. You can listen via computer and communicate via text chat. No registration is required, but please bring your questions and ideas!
